France Friday: "You're Invited..."

We want to meet with YOU!  It is our goal to schedule at least two meetings a week over the next six months.  We want to share with individuals, couples and families how you can be a part of what God is doing in France.  We will meet you for coffee or please join us for dinner one night here at the appartment.  You won't hear about as many BIG events over the next weeks, but we would love to meet with you or anyone that you might know who hasn't heard or would like to know more.  We are at about 50% of both our outgoing and monthly support percentages. (We will be updating our thermometers soon.)  We are so blessed to have had people give us one-time gifts as well as sign on for monthly support already in the month of January.  Consider this your invitation to join with us or at least find out more about how you can best join the fun!

France Friday: January 18, 2013

This is our World Team Family currently serving in the France field.  Some of them we know well, some we are getting to know throughout this process, and some we are looking forward to knowing very soon.  We ask you to take a moment and pray for them today.  They have come from all over in a united effort to share the message of Christ with the French people.  We are so thankful for them and their willingness to serve and we long for the day when we will be able to serve alongside them.  They have just started a facebook page.  Feel free to check it out here and "like" them!  Have a great weekend!

France Friday, 1-11-13

Happy Friday to all!  This post comes from Brandon this time, by the way.  We are just about settled in to our new apartment at the seminary housing and we are really enjoying it.  It is a great situation for us and particularly the kids have had no problem with the transition. I don't think I've said enough over the years about how grateful I am to Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary. Not only am I grateful for this opportunity to live in the missionary housing for a time, but also for the godly men that have in many ways shaped my heart for Jesus, the Word, and the world.  It's exciting now to think about the many men and women that live around us going through many of the same experiences I once did.  Encourage a seminary student this week if you get a chance and may we all proclaim, "To all the world for Jesus' sake..." !

Here's some ways you can pray for us this week:

  • Continue to pray for wisdom and vision as we seek to develop a strategy for the next few months in hopes of making our pre-field training course in July.
  • In particular, pray that God would make it clear to us where to be involved and serve and where to back away.
  • Pray for new opportunities with churches and individuals to share about what God is doing to reach the lost in France.

First France Friday of 2013:

Immediately after Christmas, we took the next big STEP in our journey to France.  We sold all of our furniture and moved into the furnished mission housing at the seminary where Brandon graduated a few years ago.  It was a strange feeling being back in the seminary apartments and even stranger being surrounded by furniture, tvs, dishes, sheets, towels and so much more, none of it belonging to us.  It is scary, but also very freeing to know that this brings us one step closer to getting to France.  We will be spending the next six months diligently making new contacts, scheduling meetings, sharing whenever and wherever we can and praying that God will provide the financial and prayer support that we still lack before the next pre-field training in July.  We were a little disappointed that we will not be able to make the January training, but we trust that God's timing is perfect.  I am constantly repeating Jeremiah 29:11 to myself.  I know that God has called us to this and will get us there in His timing.  We invite you to pray with us as we continue to pursue church planting in France and will hopefully begin in 2013.
